After a phased roll-out starting with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2111, the new Horizon visual theme is now generally available. With this innovation, we have implemented design elements that give SAP S/4HANA Cloud a fresh new look and help you to get your job done faster, more intuitively, and with better outcomes. A simplified header with the search field more prominently placed as well as an increased use of bold type makes it easier to see everything important at a glance. In addition to this improved information hierarchy, rounded corners and new icons make for a friendly look. We also ensure accessibility for the visually impaired through high-contrast white and black versions. With Horizon, it is now even easier to create your own custom theme with the UI Theme Designer on SAP Business Technology Platform, Cloud Foundry. Users can select the new Horizon theme via user settings and admins can make it the default for all users. Take advantage of this user-friendly experience for applications running in the browser as well as native mobile applications on both iOS and Android such as SAP Mobile Start—your native mobile entry point.

Which Feature of SAP S/4HANA Enables a Streamlined User Experience?

The My Home feature in SAP S/4HANA simplifies the user experience by providing an easy-to-use application that helps business users with their daily tasks. It optimizes the work environment and allows users to access the necessary information, tasks, and applications quickly and efficiently. By combining features from other SAP Fiori apps like My Inbox and My Situations, it enables users to manage their to-dos, insights, favorite pages, and apps on any device. The Horizon theme offers the best user experience but supports other themes as well. To activate this feature, users need to switch on certain settings in the Manage Launchpad Settings application when Spaces and Pages are activated.

Elevate Collaboration with Microsoft Teams: Unlock the Next Level

The first batch of functionalities is integrated into SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2208, utilizing a service from the SAP Business Technology Platform that allows seamless integration and a uniform user experience. To access this feature, an additional license for the SAP Document Management Service with integration option is required.

Which Feature of SAP S/4HANA Facilitates Streamlined User Experience?

SAP S/4HANA Cloud offers a feature called Screen Personas that allows users to transform traditional applications into user-friendly designs inspired by SAP Fiori. This feature enables business analysts or key users to create customized versions of screens, known as flavors, which are built on top of the existing screens of classic applications using SAP GUI for HTML. The intuitive editors provided in Screen Personas offer various powerful capabilities, such as hiding unnecessary controls, rearranging controls through drag and drop functionality, and adjusting the formatting and styles of UI elements. Additionally, the scripting engine allows flavor builders to automate keystrokes and default data entry to eliminate manual interactions from end users. These functionalities not only enhance end-user productivity and improve data quality but also empower them to work more efficiently.

Enhanced User Experience in SAP S/4HANA

Another improvement in the user experience is seen in the menu and toolbar of Classic SAP Fiori Applications. The menu is now more accessible as it is no longer part of the overflow menu but displayed as a drop-down list in the toolbar. It can be expanded to show as a menu bar above the toolbar or collapsed again through settings.
